Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization has been instrumental in educating the public about the outbreak and necessary precautions. Furthermore, support has been extended to vulnerable sectors, including miners, construction workers, farmers, and their families, through the provision of essential supplies and ration assistance.

Localized Support
The COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc globally, disproportionately impacting migrant laborers, daily wage workers, and those in informal sectors. This demographic faced job losses and income constraints, exacerbating their already precarious situations.
In April 2019, the Ajit Foundation responded to this crisis with compassion and initiative. In Barshi, Bhoom, and Paranda talukas, the Foundation launched relief efforts, providing essential support to vulnerable communities. This included distributing cooked meals, dry rations, reusable masks, and other necessities. For six months, the Foundation steadfastly supported approximately 500 disadvantaged families each day, offering a lifeline during these challenging times.
Climate change poses significant challenges to small and marginal farmers, affecting water availability, soil health, and weather patterns. Recognizing these struggles, the Ajit Foundation has embarked on initiatives to educate farmers on sustainable agricultural practices, water conservation, and soil management to enhance crop yields.
In Korphale village, situated in Barshi taluka of Solapur district, water scarcity due to scanty rainfall exacerbates agricultural challenges. To address this, the Foundation undertook a project in April 2024 to clear silt from natural ponds, thereby increasing their storage capacity. Over 54,453 cubic meters of silt were removed from five ponds, and dam strengthening work was carried out. The silt was then distributed to nearby farmers to enrich their soil, fostering community participation and collaboration. This endeavor promises to bolster agricultural production and enhance water storage capacity in the region.
Furthermore, in the drought-prone Marathwada region of Maharashtra, the Ajit Foundation initiated watershed development and micro-irrigation projects in 2023. These efforts have resulted in a remarkable 100% increase in agricultural yield, providing sustainable solutions to mitigate the impact of climate change on farmers’ livelihoods.
